If you're the type that plans to use your knives then Factory Seconds are the right option for you. You'll get all the same performance as a first but at a much lower price. This knife is a Spyderco Factory Second because some aspect of it didn't meet Spyderco's very stringent quality-control standards. While these flaws may affect the product’s appearance, most are imperceptible and they do not compromise its proper mechanical operation. Regardless of the specific reason a knife is declared a second, it remains safe for normal use. To clearly differentiate Factory Seconds from Firsts, they are all marked with a small nick on the spine of the blade near the handle on the right side (See Photos).
