NOS Early 1990s De Rosa Nuovo Classico Frame/Fork (55cm C-T)

Description: For sale is an early 1990s De Rosa Nuovo Classico frame/fork constructed with Columbus TSX steel. This is a new old stock (NOS) frame and is identified as being created somewhere around 1991-1993. The original owner partially built it up with a seatpost, bottom bracket, headset, a front wheel and likely a rear derailleur (Image shows the faintest line for the cable under the bottom bracket) but it is clear that no brakes, or a front derailleur, were ever mounted. For whatever reason, the build was not moved forward on. The frame is in beautiful shape for being over 30 years old, though it does have some “shop wear.” Most comes near the rear dropout, on the drivetrain side. The only chips on the bike are here and shown best in the image provided. The fork dropouts have a touch of plating that flaked off. The only other blemish on this bike comes at the expense of the drivetrain seat tube decal. If you look closely at the “E”, you’ll see some marring. Not sure what happened here but I have clear coated over it so that nothing will move from this point forward. From 5’ away, it isn’t noticeable unless you are looking for it. The bottom bracket shell edges were professionally machined with a chamfering cutter tool so that the frame could accept a Mavic 610 floating cartridge bottom bracket. This still allows the shell to accept any kind of traditional bottom bracket without issue, though it also allows you to accept a Mavic 610, which is an exceptional BB in its own right.
