It does appear to be slightly loose, but that would not be noticeable when used as a trivet. The wood is from the Pacific Northwest. This piece was produced in Grants Pass, Oregon by Myrtlewood Products and is approximately 1” in thickness and 8” in width. There is some slight damage to the product tag on the back.
