From the late 90s Artist is Rose McCay Southern Indiana based artist Gracie Rose Adkins McCay is the author of several adult coloring books featuring her hand-drawn designs (Coloring with Gram). She graduated from Cornish College of the Arts with a BFA in painting, drawing and printmaking. She also studied Education, Religion, and Art at the Colgate Rochester Divinity School and the Philadelphia College of Art. McCay was fascinated with the layering process of painting, mixing colored pencil with watercolor, acrylic and oil stain. A prolific maker, her work was always imaginative and colorful, and frequently featured fish. She exhibited at the Brown County Art Gallery in Nashville, IN, and at the Franklin Gallery of Fine Arts among others, and she was a long-time member the Experimental Artists of Brown County group.
