Description: Original and scarce pair of WW1 German infantrymans jackboots. They are known as the 1866 pattern and were standard issue throughout the war. As of September 1915, all leather equipment was ordered to be blackened, although this was not universally adhered to. This particular pair are still in the original tan finish. Army orders of June 1916 (July 1916 for Bavaria and Saxony) ordered that the webbing pull straps should be made instead out of leather offcuts, as seen on these boots. After the war, they reverted back to webbing. The boots show age related wear and tear and have a little bit of damage to the top rear of one shaft and a little spot of damage to the edge of one sole, otherwise, these are a good pair and displays nicely. They are approximately a UK size 9 Happy to ship worldwide. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
