Description: Photograph Notes: Ingram Haugh is a large expanse of unenclosed grassland between Ingram Bridge and the small bridge over the Reaveley Burn to the east, bounded on the south by the River Breamish. The area was traditionally used for grazing but does show signs of having being ploughed in the past. As it is the floodplain of the river, whose course has constantly changed over thousands of years, large amounts of sand and gravel have been deposited. A proposal to extract the deposits and create large lakes in its place were the subject of a huge local campaign of objection in 1996.
