Description: The Pre-1964 Winchester rifle barrel in this listing is a takeoff barrel that is in near mint condition. It is an early post-war barrel with a 1948 date stamped under the chamber. The roll-stamping is deep and clean. The front ramp is the early milled-on style with the approach ramp stippled. The bore is in mint condition as is the rest of the barrel. The overall length is the original 24" and the there are no gouges or dings in the finish. The Winchester factory bluing is at 98-99%, with the only slight wear around the muzzle or crown from sliding in and out of a gun case. This barrel is 76 years old, but it looks like it was it came out of the Winchester factory yesterday. The condition is as close to new as you will ever find and the 1948 stamping with the chambering of .270 WCF is seldom encountered.
