Description: I consider LEO FENDER the king of 40-watt amps. What BEAUTIFUL CLEAN HEADROOM!! Awesome TONE and a prefect platform for pedals.This is a PRE-CBS, VINTAGE 1964 FENDER BANDMASTER BLACKFACE GUITAR AMP. BLACK PANEL AMLIFIER MODEL AB763. Made in the USA, Fullerton, CA. FENDER ELECTRIC INSTRUMENT COMPANY, FEIC. NL on the tube chard denotes December of 1964. The amp has been recently serviced to repair the vibrato footswitch jack and to clean all the controls. NO SCRATCHY POTS. Pots are dated 1964, i.e. 304 6437. I am including an aftermarket footswitch. This baby idles quiet, and EVERYTHING WORKS AS IT SHOULD. The amp has all the original transformers and has had no modifications. 100% complete right down to the piggyback mounting bars on the bottom and snowman '8' knobs. Previous service work includes new supply caps and a few other caps replaced in the pre-amp section. It has a replacement 2 prong power cord (or maybe just the plug is a replacement). I have installed a COMPLETE MATCHED SET of old stock USA made RCA tubes. I have had these tubes stashed away for years; a rare opportunity to bring a vintage amp back to original VINTAGE TONE. All grey plate 12AX7/7025's and the rest are black plate tubes. Some of the most expensive vintage tubes on the market. The tubes test strong on my Hickok 6000A tube tester. It has less than normal wear and tear. Pictures show it all. The only other thing worth a mention is the grill cloth is not a typical pattern (see the last picture to compare). Either it was replaced years ago or is some kind of 'transition' feature. Fender switched from blonde to black cabinets in 1964.Another interesting transition tidbit is the logo is PAINTED silver. Sometime after 1964 Fender bought chrome badges.Although not included, an original 2-12 cab is also for sale. Inquire if interested. As a basic test I have operated this amp for at least 6 hours recently and it did not fail, smoke, throw sparks, blow fuses, start on fire, etc. As a general disclaimer... Old electronics are scratched, worn, chipped, cracked, dirty, dusty, stained, ugly, tinkered with, missing parts, etc. The exteriors have wear that includes cuts, holes, tears, scuffs, missing stitching, missing or replaced feet, handles, knobs. In the course of servicing over the years, they typically do not have all original components. Old electronics typically hum and have scratchy controls. Often the pictures are the best describer, so LOOK AT THE PICTURES before you buy. Old electronics can fail at any time. I do not warranty any electronics past your initial inspection.
