Radio Shack Archer LCD Electronic Counting Module 277-302&Custom lap counters

Description: Radio Shack Archer LCD Electronic Counting Module 277-302 & Custom Slot Car lap counters There is one Module that is new old stock, (I did open it up to check it with a battery and it works). The plastic package is very yellowed with age. I has five a digit liquid-crystal display, counting range from 00000 to 99999. there are seven pins to solder wires to; 1- Ground, 2- Reset, 3-Counting Input, 4- +1.5V input, 5- Tone Input, 6- Not Used, 7- Not Used. There is also one I never used that is out of package that works, although is is a little dusty on the back. There are two score boards I built many years ago for one of my 4-lane HO slot car layouts. They were built from hobby plastic and the one has started falling apart from age and being stored. They are dusty dirty and will need to be cleaned up. I had these bilboards at different ends of the layout, and both were wired to the same set of reset switches. The wires are all cut shorter to avoid a rat's nest of wires. The wires will need to be traced out to understand re-wiring. Soldering wires to these tiny pins takes a good soldering ability, please understand that before bidding. The Score board with the Winston stickers, Lane #3 Module is not working, the other three Modules work fine. The score board with the Heuer and Hooters stickers, Lane #4 Module is not working, the other three Modules work fine. If desired, the two new counters could replace the faulty counters. Some of the wires that were soldered onto the pins have broken loose and will need to be re-soldered. The instruction sheet with the one in the package are pretty straight forward, all I ever used was the ground, counting input and reset. I never used the tone input or the +1.5V ( I used AA Batteries). Also included are a bunch of used magnetic reed switches that I had glued underneath the track with GOO Glue. The reed switches worked fine with magnet slot cars, but Aurora Thunderjets would only trip them if they were running wide open on a straightaway, and sometimes might skip a lap if the car had weaker motor magnets. Nice lot of items whether you are after eight counter modules or to rebuild the score boards. Look at all pictures. I'm cleaning out, stuffs gotta go.
