Description: Presented is this Rare POSITIVE Antique Seeder / Planter in wonderful, well-preserved, operating condition. Implement from an estate sale, displays like a 19thC Patent Model. Seeder constructed with wood shaft and handle with cast iron hardware and wheels. The Seeder operates by: first tilling the soil with its triangular rake; then seeds are inserted into the channel fastened along the wood handle's shaft; and lastly as seeds exit channel below they are pressed into the soil with its hammer remotely controlled from the wood lever stationed near top of the handle. Implement appears unused, having been in storage for many years. Wood has original crazed lacquered finish with hardly any wear and minor 2 inch surface check, hard to see in photos but worth noting. Seeder's wood shaft right side marked in gold lettering: POSITIVE Pat'd June 20, 1899 Seeder's wood shaft left side marked in gold lettering: DEPOSIT N.Y. Seeder's cast iron marked: (P)OSITIVE - (Please Note: Letter 'P' is Worn-Off) Patented June 20, 1899 Overall dimensions: Length 54" X Height 5" X Width 7".
