De Wolfe, Fiske & Co., Boston published the book copyright 1889, 1890. This is a first edition. The interior is in near fine condition. The pages are tight. There is light foxing on a few pages, and light shadowing of the illustrations on the facing pages. There are no tears or marks. There are no signs of prior ownership. 10 Hand Colored Plates by Mrs. Maynard are in fine condition. The cover is in very good condition. It show slight wear, and the very beginning of frying at the right corner of the foot of the spine. The book is 6 1/4” x 9” tall and 159 pages. I feel sorry for Mrs. Maynard who hand colored all the plates. She is only mentioned at the end of the introduction and not on the title page. The beautiful egg illustrations are what makes this highly collectible.
