Description: SUPER RARE BOOK. Printed circa 1940, after the end of the CIVIL WAR . The author is LUIS PEREZ SOLERO, who was the chief advertisement of the GONZALEZ BYASS company, producer of famous sherry TIO PEPE, he was the creator of the iconic, worldwide known figure of the bottle of Tío Pepe, with guitar , bullfighter jacket and Córdoba hat. AS THE AUTHOR WROTE THIS BOOK WAS SUPPOSED, BE PRINTED IN 1938, BUT DUE CIVIL WAR ,WAS PRINTED A COUPLE OF YEARS LATER IN Barcelona SPAIN. 1940 The first part is the full history, about the sherry, with many stories, about the vid, the people, the company who made this wine. Full illustrated. The second part of the book, could be a little controversial in the actual times., and is about the ORDEN DEL TÍO PEPE DEL ORO, that includes a beautiful colored label. I said is controversial, because, some of the figures awarded with that order, or members of that order, were involved in the CIVIL WAR, like Gen Varela, Gen Queipo del Llano etc there also some prominent figures of the arts, sports, bullfighting. politics, literature etc, Manolete, Belmonte, Pepe Luis Vasquez , Luca de Tena, Lili Alvarez, Tina Gasco , Manolo Binevenida, ,Conchita Piquer, etc etc, all they pictured and many more important figures of Spain during that era.The book is hand signed and dedicated to POMPOFF, who’s was a famous clown, and is also pictured as member of the order. Since this book is here in USA, and POMPOFF lived for some time in USA, I guess this book was part of his state. but, I have no more references about him. Soft cover. Condition according age . Non-numbered, but appr. 100 pages full of photos and text. Probably just few copies of this book remain, and signed by author, probably no more than five. . ,
