Description: Maker and age: On both pieces in this delightful Art Deco demitasse cup and saucer set is the first known mark of the German porcelain maker SP Meyer, or SPM. The mark was in use from 1899 to 1929. Siegmund Paul Meyer founded a porcelain factory in Bayreuth, Germany, in 1899, producing a well-known range of durable cookware under the brand name Walküre, or Valkyrie, as well as fine porcelain products. The company continues today as Walküre and is a world leader in the production of hotel porcelain. Design: A classic Art Deco chevron band of green and gold is on both gold trimmed pieces. The pattern number 2204 is on the base of the cup. Condition: The set is in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, discoloration, crazing or repairs. There is light wear to the cup handle - it's shown in the photos. Size: The saucer is 4 1/4 inches wide. The cup is 2 1/2 inches wide and 1 3/4 inches tall. Together they weigh 3.6 ounces. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
