Description: Antique patent medicine tin pill box 2.5” x 1 5/8” x 5/8” with hinge not included in this measurement. Rawleigh's Quinine Bromate with Acetanilid Laxative Cold Tablets for Colds, LaGrippe or Neuralgia Manufactured in Freeport, Ill. after 1906. This is an early form of this tin. Most I've seen are from the 20s. This looks earlier--closer to the patent date. It has gold paint on the cover and is more ornate in its decoration compared to the later boxes. Acetanilid was a dangerous precursor to Acetominophen that could cause serious side effects. It is a pretty little box and an interesting bit of medical history. Please note that it has paint loss from use. But the wear is even and no one area is particularly more worn. Please use pictures to help determine condition. Please feel free to ask questions.Track Page Views WithAuctiva's FREE Counter Track Page Views With Auctiva's FREE Counter
