Either he knows not the ways of horror comics or doesn’t care because, with one exception, each of the stories here is To Be Continued, when they could’ve been wrapped up, given another page or two. And he has trouble expanding the protagonists beyond their movie roles. While Captain Spaulding makes for an effective horror comic host, it’s hard to care when Baby is about to be killed by cultists (knowing she’d do far, far worse to them, given half a chance). There are exactly two highlights here: a relatively funny Masked Mexican Wrestler comic called "El Superbeasto" and Rare pencils by Gene Colan. But it fails to answer the central question: What, besides hyperbole, makes this, in any way, "international"? We try to describe comic defects that can not be easily seen. Hence, we rely on the large images we provide, which generally show the front cover, back cover, side views, and centerfold, which will show the quality of the interior pages.
