Description: ROBESON SUREDGE Vintage Whittler Pocketknife: Robeson knives were highly regarded in their day, priced and equal to the Case knives of their contemporary. Millard Fillmore Robeson started a cutlery business in 1879. The company remained in business, under several different owners, until the mid-1960s and the name has been revived occasionally since by importers. This knife is a true whittler with the main blade riding on two springs for strength. could have been made in the 1930s, when wooden handles were still a popular scale option. It has a square and firm brass frame and nickel-steel bolsters; carbon steel blades have been sharpened by file, diminishing the blades significantly and with much scratching. Tang front is stamped "Shuredge, Rochester NY", and back is stamped with pattern number "32100".The black handle-scales could be cocobolo wood. Still, with all the scratching and blade use, it is a handsome knife for display purposes. Ladybug not included. Mailing only to USA-48. Postage is usually between $5.00 and $6.26. Buyer pays $4.00, I will pay the rest. Please see my other knives and save postage.
