It was a writing system used by the Germanic tribes from 2nd to 8th Century AD. Runic inscriptions are found on artifacts such as jewelry, amulets, tools, weapons and runestones (large standing stones) dating from that period. Handcrafted English Pewter: This ring is handmade in England using the highest quality English Pewter. English Pewter is a lead-free, zinc-free alloy which is valued second only to silver. English Pewter is much harder to craft than the low-grade zinc and lead alloys (which contain a significant amount of toxic impurities) that are still being used in some jewelry manufacture today. Because these rings are handcrafted and hand-finished, each one is unique; and there are slight variations between individual pieces.
