Fresh from a local estate is this beautiful striking Art Deco Swiss Desk Clock by Schild & Co of Switzerland. The case is decorated in yellow guilloche enamel and then to the center is a sterling silver diamond frame containing black enamel which is set with silver and marcasite numerals. The case has a easel back that firmly supports the Desk Clock. Besides the clock and easel the rest of the frame is made of a heavy gage sterling silver and is very well made. The back of the case is stamped sterling Germany along with the letters DRGM.The case of the clock is made of brass or gilt metal and has the Swiss maker's mark Schild &Co impressed. The DRGM mark is a type of German registration that appears on metalwork and ceramics, sort of like a patent but you can read more about it on Google. There is no doubt what era (i.e., Art Deco) this Desk Clock comes from with its use of geometric shapes and bright colors. I have only tested the accuracy of the clock over a day, and over that period of time it kept time well.
