Description: Simply stunning delicate set of 4 cups and saucers by Martial Redon Limoges, from the late 1890s. The pink washed interior seems rare -- I can't find anything like these! Each cup and saucer set features a different floral motif, two in nearly identical yellow flowers, and two with pink roses or similar flowers. The cups are delicately scalloped and seem like little flowers themselves. Exquisite set! Possibly a chocolate cup set, but due to size, more likely a demitasse set. They measure 2 1/4 inches in diameter (excluding handle) and 2 1/4 inches tall. The green mark dates them to 1891-1896, according to the Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, Gaston, p. 269. I've also seen some who date the mark from 1891-1906, but the source for that date range is unknown. I am known for packing my items with exceptional care -- fine china is always double boxed.
