Description: For your consideration is my handcrafted version of a carronade. A carronade was a short heavy gun used by the British Royal Navy on battleships from the late 18th century to about 1820. The base rotates on a brass spindle set in a faux brick pad.My passion for woodworking explains the varieties of exotic wood used in the carronade’s carriage. An elevation screw is used to raise/lower the barrel. The barrel is fully bored to the fuse hole.
