Description: I am selling my vintage gold test kit. This set has been in my family over 90 years. The main item is the Gold Test Needle Set with solid gold test samples. The sets sold today are only three or four samples. The samples are 4 karat, 6 karat, 8 karat, 10 karat, 12 karat, 14 karat, 16 karat, 18 karat, and 20 karat. I am including the rubbing stone and acid bottle. The bottle does not include the nitric acid that you will have to provide. The process works by the user rubbing the subject Jewry on the stone and a sample that you think is close to the same karat. Then you put a drop of acid on the samples and watch to see which sample dissolves first of fastest. Nitric will almost never dissolve high karat gold. Everything I selling now is what is left over from my downtown San Francisco Jewelry store. The last image is of me in front of the store in 1975.
