Description: COMPLETELY GONE THROUGH & TUNED STANLEY BEDROCK 605 SMOOTH SOLE PLANE TYPE 11 1942 The type 11 was made for one year its unquestionably the best casting Stanley made in the bedrock series. Its a heavier and thicker casting "absolute work horse of a plane" The lever cap on these were not plated or polished. These casting are like the type 17 in the standard body planes which was also a heavier and thicker casting. 14 long , 2-3/8 wide , cutter 2" wide work done The body and frog were cleaned then japanning was waxed. . All the hardware was cleaned and oiled. All tread holes are cleaned and oiled The Rosewood Tote & knob are superb. Both were waxed several times. The sole was lapped. All lapping is done by hand on a granite slab. Cheeks were lapped and the rail's were cleaned and smoothed out. Frog face & seats lapped. Cap iron was cleaned and lapped. The Cutter was lapped and sharpened. Its extremely sharp and cuts superb shavings leaving a very smooth finish on the wood surface. Lever cap was cleaned then lapped at its contact point. This is a superb plane. Excellent working and cosmetic condition.
