Description: This experimental nine act play was so controversial that it was banned or censored in many localities. A woman's sexual exploits, mental illness, abortion and deception regarding paternity were topics too hot to handle in many towns during the 1920s. Written in 1926 and 1927, the Pulitzer Prize winning play premiered on Broadway in 1928. The dust jacket is included, but there are tears and flaws. There are blemishes on the cover, along the spine, and the corners are not perfect. There is wear on headcap and tailcap. The upper corner of page 13/14 is torn. There is writing on the front pastedown, and the front pastedown is peeling a bit along the lower part of the hinge. Pages are yellowed. See photos. 9
