Description: Sundance is an abstract expressionism painting. The bright cadmium yellow and titanium white represents the sun and it’s reflection dancing around on different surfaces. This painting was created be me, Gena. As I was standing in the middle of Discovery Green (our downtown park) one day. I noticed how luminous the sun was and perceived how the color of the suns’ reflection changed colors and brightness as it bounced off of buildings, playground equipment, the pond, the concrete sidewalks, even other art installations. It was absolutely stunning how the rays danced about. When I got home, I painted Sundance from memory, and expressive strokes. Materials: Liquitex Acrylic paint, water diluted acrylic paint, acrylic paint markers, soft pastel on 20x24 inch stretched canvas.
