Signed 144/32 on the barrel end, this is an elegant pen with more Gold Filled hardware than usual – complex bands at the cap lip and similar at the top as well as a unique clip with hump design and signed PATENT JAN 19 1915 – there is a personalized gold? plaque applied to the barrel with initials T F and H or M - ornately inscribed and hard to interpret. The pen is likely hard rubber with a bit of soft toning to the barrel end – signed SWAN in this area. The Flexible Medium nib signed Mabie Todd & Co New York is a No 2 or likely No 3 – excellent gold nib with lots of iridium, mild but definite flex and mild separation –a very good nib.
