Description: Scarce Blackie and Son 1915 1st edition hardback in original blue pictorial cloth with some edge wear but still bright and tightly bound. Slight fraying at spine head. Small indentation at top edge of front board. Previous owner name and school inscription to the front end paper. Old bookshop label to lower corner of front paste down. Although the book is undated the handwritten inscription is dated 1915. The book is profusely illustrated with four full page colour plates including the frontispiece and over 30 black-and-white plates. The page edges have been tinted blue by the publishers. Some of the board corners are slightly bruised or bumped. The pages are lightly age tanned. This is a nice copy and look very good on your bookshelves.
