The Lexington or Minuteman Cartridge Box - Revolutionary War Reenactment

Description: The Lexington or Minuteman Cartridge BoxVeteran Arms LLC is pleased to offer this spectacular reproduction of the Lexington Cartridge Box - sometimes called the Minuteman Box - documented to the Revolutionary War's first battle.Contrary to popular perception, by the outbreak of hostilities in 1775, the militias of Massachusetts were relatively well equipped for a conflict. Many local communities contributed toward the outfitting of soldiers for service. In Concord, Rueben Brown was contracted to produce cartridge boxes for the local militia. His boxes were made of black harness leather enclosing a wooden cartridge block drilled with holes to contain cartridges. It would have been these boxes that the Minutemen wore when 'the shot heard 'round the world' was made. Examples of the block from the box can be seen in the Minuteman National Historic Park, and photos of the original box can be found in the work entitled, "For Liberty I Live."Veteran Arms LLC's Lexington / Minuteman Cartridge Box is true to the original in form. It has a black leather body, wooden inner block with cartridge holes, wooden latchet, and leather shoulder strap with buckle adjustment.
