Description: This is " The Speeches of Charles Phillips, Esq. Delivered At The Bar, and on Various Public Occasions, In Ireland and England ", edited by the author, in an 1817 edition published by Kirk & Mercein, 22 Wall-Street. Condition of this hardcover book is Good Minus. It is bound in publisher's original paper-covered boards, quarter bound tan paper spine, with titles. The cover boards are soiled, worn at the edges, and the spine is split, with some loss of material, especially at the foot of the spine. The pages have deckled edges. There is a book plate of Henry Carter Stuart (governor of Virginia from 1914 - 1918) on the left front pastedown, and an inked ownership name on the right front free endpaper. An eight-page list of the bookseller/publisher's available inventory is bound in at front. There is moderate to heavy foxing throughout, and a damp stain affecting the rear board and last few pages.
