Just a touch of spotting to endpapers and fore edges, else very clean and without previous ownership markings. A stunning set and scarce thus. Notes: First edition set of this comprehensive history of the famous English cavalry unit, ranging from its origins in the 17th century to the Boer War. Included are some of the Household Cavalry's most famous actions at Dettingen, the Peninsula, Waterloo, and Tel-el-Kebir. A third volume was published 17 years later by Heinemann.
