Description: Metric Measures UpSet of three metric rulers, 30 cm long These are three identical plastic rulers measuring 30 centimeters long (that's rougly one foot). Each is printed on two sides, the photo showing both sides of them. On one side, the metric scale measures 300 millimeters (mm) on one edge, 30 centimeters (cm) on the other. This side lists key metric units, their abbreviations, and the prefixes designating the various sizes of each unit. On the reverse side is a description of common units in relation to objects we are all familiar with (for example, "a gram is a little heavier than a cmmon paperclip). This is valuable because it makes thinking in metric terms much easier than if youare constantly tryng to compare them to English measurements. There is also a metric conversion table (for example, "1000 m = 1 km'). These rulers were originally packaged for bulk sale in units of 20 or more (I've forgotten which), but I've repackaged them to a more household friendly number. The rulers were produced by the US Department of Commerce in 1993.
