As their name suggests, they are light pink in color. We have both a small (0.5"to 1.5") minnow which is great as feeders and then a larger 1.5-2.5" minnow that is better as bait. If we are out of a certain size of rosie red minnow be sure to see if we do have our in stock as they are just a black version of a fathead minnow. As their name suggests, they are light pink in color. Rosies are usually .5 to 3 inches in size. They are also a great addition to goldfish aquariums, tanks, and garden or koi ponds, as they swim in schools and create a nice movement in the water. Minnows are omnivores and mainly eat zooplankton and phytoplankton, but will eat all types of small dried and live food. Fathead minnows are fractional spawners and spawn throughout the spring and summer once the temperatures are about 65 degrees. Their high reproduction rate make them an excellent stocking choice.
