Description: Arizona Custom GripsUberti 1858 Remington Blackpowder (Cap & Ball), OR Cartridge Conversions~ Exclusive~MAGNA-TUSK™Aged IVORY GRIPSBrand NewUberti 1858 Remington Revolvers:These grips WILL FIT the UBERTI model 1858 Remington Revolvers. These grips are milled to fit BOTH the Cap & Ball (Percussion / Black Powder) revolvers, AND the Conversion revolvers made to fire self-contained metallic cartridges, whether sold and marketed through Cimarron, Taylor’s & Co., E.M.F., Navy Arms, or other Importers.IMPORTANT! These grips are milled to fit all the various versions of the 1858 Remington issued by Uberti over the years. However, to ensure that you get the correct grips, please attach a note to your order (or send us an email) stating which type of frame shape you have (Circular or Elliptical). Please see the explanatory photo in this listing showing what to look for. We will need to know this information prior to shipping your grip. Also, if your revolver was made prior to 2015 (or you are unsure), please send us the two-letter code usually found on the side of the barrel near the cylinder, inside the rectangular box. This will start with an “A”, “B”, or “C”. Please note that “PN” is NOT a date code. Please see the picture in this listing for reference. [Please note that if your revolver was made prior to 1975, your revolver will have a Roman Numeral (for example, “XIII”, or “XV”), stamped somewhere on the revolver instead of the letters, which we will need to know].In addition, because of varying grip pin placement in a select few of some of the Uberti 1858 revolvers, to ensure optimum fit we have made the grip pin holes slightly oversized on certain grips when necessary. For optimum fit, a small amount of epoxy or J.B. Weld (not included) will be required to partially fill the oversized grip pin holes in the back of the grip to bed the grips for the optimum fit when first putting on the grips. Full, easy to follow instructions included with the grips. What these WILL NOT FIT: Please note that these grips are made only for Uberti revolvers. These WILL NOT FIT revolvers made by Pietta, Armi San Marco, original Civil War era Remington revolvers, or 1858 revolvers from any other maker. If you have one of the Pietta revolvers or an original Remington, we also have grips for these listed. Please let us know if you need help finding them, or if you have any questions. We are happy to help. 04012300 Arizona Custom Grips About our exclusive Magna-Tusk™ “Hi-Grade” Ivory Grips:Magna-Tusk™ Ivory grips, an exclusive of Arizona Custom Grips, are made out of our premium high-grade, ultra-high density Ivory material to improve on the inherent fragility and weakness of standard Bonded Ivory, used on just about all factory and regular aftermarket ivory grips today. Standard Bonded Ivory is brittle, and tends to weaken and develop stress fractures over time with repeated use and handling. Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact, and is the toughest alternative Ivory grip material available today, while still retaining the pristine look of real ivory. They are not cast or made out of an inferior, lightweight material, but are heavy and dense, carefully milled out of a solid block, one at a time. Magna-Tusk is completely rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant. It is flame and heat resistant, will not melt like Urethane or plastic, and is entirely void-free, with over 10x the strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative materials. Unlike with real ivory, there is no routine care and maintenance involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not maintained properly or if left in the heat. It is produced with outstanding aesthetic properties and mechanical performance. When aged with our exclusive aging process, it takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle grain details which most experts cannot tell apart from the real thing. In addition, the material has a fine grain structure, which holds intricate detail for carvings, artistic relief work, etc., found on many historic grips. About Our Aging Process:We go to great efforts to ensure that our Aged Ivory grips not only look similar to real aged ivory, but in fact look identical to the real thing. Magna-Tusk, because of the quality materials used, will produce an aged Ivory grip unlike any other material made today. Although much more difficult to produce than “uniform” colored grips, through a special process these grips are slowly and laboriously mottled, variegated, and weathered to look like old, antique Ivory, and incorporate other authentic minute details found on original old Ivory as seen on many of the revolvers which belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West. No two are the same. Our process produces an authentic appearance and genuine patina which extends deep into the surface, just like real aged ivory. Not only does this give it the appearance of authenticity and depth, but this surface will not chip, crack, or peel like a superficially applied coating. With Magna-Tusk aged grips, most experts cannot tell them apart from a decades-old or even a centuries-old original. While the quality difference is somewhat noticeable in the photos, due to the difficulties of capturing the exact colors and hues of these grips with a camera, the difference is even more apparent when seen and handled in person. Many of our repeat sales are made by the very customers we sell to, who take their grips to the range or club, where the quality difference is immediately seen and appreciated by others. We are also capable of producing them with a “clean” aged look if required (i.e., without the mottling, etc.), although they do not look as authentic as our regular aging process. If you are interested in ordering grips for a Brace of pistols, please order both sets together, so we can ensure a good matchup. Dense, heavy, and solid, Magna-Tusk grips are in a class all their own. With our exclusive aging process, these grips are outstanding right out of the box, and will continue to improve over time. The more these grips are handled and used, the better they look! 031820 Grip screw included with all grips. The photo used is a stock photo (a sample pair). Yours will appear similar to these. Customer satisfaction is important to us -- Full Money Back, less shipping, if not fully satisfied! Thanks!!
