Description: Up for sale is a first edition copy of "Uniform of the Army of the United States 1774-1889. What makes this rare and desirable is the inscription and dedication. This copy was dedicated by Civil War Officer and official doorkeeper of president's Grant thru Teddy Roosevelt Major Charles D.A. Loeffler to a young captain named D.A. Stroh. Stroh would become the future commanding general of the 9th infantry Division in WW2. All of the uniform plates are in great condition, front cover is detached and rear cover is missing but the pages are still bound.
