Description: Rhipsalis Ewaldiana can live in trees with filtered light as they were first discovered. Most of us grow them in pots, as I do. They came from South America, as do many Rhipsalis. This plant looks great in a hanging basket. It has small white flowers in Spring, maybe into summer. These plants prefer semi-sun and should be watered before they are dry. I also have 6" pots.. Since the plant branches out with various lengths I didn't want to sell 6" long pieces. Instead I am going to sell branching pieces. These are equivalent to 4-5 6" piecesTo root these Ewaldiana, use chunky soil. Suggestions are coir 1 to 1 with perlite, torn up sphagnum moss, small garden pebbles and/or small sized bark. This keeps the soil from getting soggy. You want really good drainage since there are no roots yet. Poke hole/holes in the soil. Next, wet the stem and then dip it in a rooting powder. Push the cutting/cuttings into the hole securing the stems by pushing around the stem very hard. You may need to add a little more soil at this point. Put in a semi-shading place and don't water until almost dry. Each time you water, water around the stems. As the root system matures you can increase the volume of water slightly. It will take about 6-12 weeks, in warmer weather, to have good roots. It's really fun to start a NEW plant!! THE LAST 5 PICTURES ARE EXAMPLES OF EACH OF THE 1 BRANCHING PIECE YOU WILL RECEIVE. ENJOY!
