Front side of coin is printed and colorized while the rear side is raised lettering and gold plated. Coin is contained in an acrylic air tight holder. USS San Bernardino (LST-1189) was the eleventh of twenty Newport-class tank landing ship built for the United States Navy in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
