The fifty-five eminent Americans who met in Philadelphia during the hot summer of 1787, to create a workable government for their brand new nation, were deeply aware that their decisions would long affect the future. They created a Constitution, in the words of the Preamble, for "ourselves and our posterity." The entire drama - from the first session of the Constitutional Convention to the last state's ratification of the Bill of Rights three years later - is told in this historic United States Constitution Bicentennial Covers Collection.
