Were you aware that vanilla flavoring comes from an orchid? The vanilla orchid is a species plant that grows very large. The long roots need to set down in soil or attach to a structure to grow. Vines should be 10 to 30 foot long before flowers can be expected. These plants are summer bloomers. This beauty produces light green flowers along the vine. If pollinated the plants may produce vanilla beans. The auction is for one 12" fresh cutting. Please note that this orchid is a vine and will need a trellis to attach to. These plants are very fast and hearty growers and should root and begin growing quickly. Their tendrils will attach to the trellis. The cutting offered is healthy with leaves and tendrils. The cuttings will be shipped bare root wrapped in Sphagnum moss. Great for beginners! What a nice addition to any orchid collection!! Good luck & Happy Bidding.
