Description: Beautiful Hot Springs National Park ashtray made by Vernon Kilns from Vernon CA. These souvenir items were mfg. using a transferware process in placing scenes from local tourist areas onto a porcelain plate, then kiln fired to produce various dinnerware and souvenir items. The art was produced by several well-known artists active in the 30's, 40's, and 50's such as Orpha Klinker, Don Blanding and Rockwell Kent. This ashtray was mfg. specifically for the concessionaire operating the souvenir stores for Hot Springs National Park, Chas Weaver stores. Around the rim of this ashtray are apple blossoms depicting the state flower. Various scenes from around the park, including the park administration building, the Medical Arts clinic and the Arlington Hotel are depicted on this beautiful piece of MCM porcelain. Plate measures 5.75" diameter and is a set in maroon tones. No cracks, chips or crazing. I am currently liquidating most of my collection of Vernon Souvenir plates and will be listing them on EBay. More to follow in the coming days. I will ship these plates to your selected destination once paid. Packed to arrive intact!
