Description: This is a tough to find non-excavated 16mm cuff size Confederate staff officer's button. This is the style listed as CS5 in Albert's button book. You often see this pattern of button in the coat and vest sizes but the cuff size is a very tough button to find. These buttons were made in England and ran through the Union naval blockade. It has a beautiful droop-wing eagle on the face with some of the original gold wash remaining. The back and shank are intact with a clear "S K W EXTRA RICH" back mark. They were made by the firm of Smith, Kemp & Wright in England. This button is in attractive untouched condition and is a must have for your collection.
