Description: Vintage 1940s Candlelight Slipper Satin Wedding Dress Estimated modern Large / Extra Large - but PLEASE see measurements to confirm and/or make your own best judgment call. Please keep in mind, when looking at the measurements, there really is not any stretch. This dress was soaked / hand laundered, but will absolutely need to be pressed / steamed. This will either be shipped in a large polymailer or folded and shipped in a box. Again, it will absolutely need to be pressed / steamed. FEATURES: Basque waist. Lace chevrons on the bias cut skirt. Interesting detailing along the neck with a ribbon and rolled lace. I thought perhaps this was added later, but the embellishments do seem age appropriate. Back button closure. Art deco seaming details. COLOR: ivory candlelight satin. WOUNDS FROM TIME: I believe someone may have intended to take this in at some point as there are some pin sized tailor marks along some seams. See photos. You cannot really see these from afar due to the sheen of the fabric, but up close you can. The underarms have some faint yellowing - certainly darker / more pronounced on interior. There is an additional gusset of fabric on the underarms that seems to be a slightly different color. Perhaps added later for ease of movement? I don’t think either is noticeable when worn, but see video and make your own judgment. Some scuffs to the satin. One (what appears to be) pen ink mark with some whitening around it (as though someone attempted to stain treat). One line. Second button is off colored. However, of course, again… see video and photos to make your own assessment. MATERIAL: unknown - I would assume silk, but that is purely a guess. Measurements taken flat and APPROXIMATE Shoulder to shoulder- 18” Smallest part of Waist- 17” waist at waist seam (taken at sides of basque waist)- 17.25” Hips not taken due to full nature Chest front (underarm to underarm with bust darts taken into account)-24" in front Chest back (underarm to underarm)- 22.5” Shoulder to front of hem- 57” Sleeve length - 23.5” to wrist, 25.5" to end of point I am 5’2” and was 105 pounds and wearing 4” heels when I filmed the video.
