Description: Keeping clothing simple was the name of the game during wartime. Materials were scarce and American women were limited to purchasing 3 pairs of shoes per year! Wonder how that was enforced…perhaps simply by the honor system. The Fashion-Bilt Shoe Company of Chicago managed to survive the Great Depression and then WW2 by bidding for defense contracts to produce nurses shoes. Times were hard. Everyone made sacrifices. But a good sturdy pair of shoes with a reasonable heel and a sprinkle of pretty details could sustain a civilian lady till better times came along. These are those shoes. Size is unreadable so compare measurements to a pair you own that fit you well. Dimensions: toe to heel inside 10”, widest across sole exterior 3.25”, heel height 3”. Condition: very nice used condition with a few stray marks. Bottom of heel of right shoe has some wear to suede. Instep loose in both. Please help me maintain my excellent sellers rating by leaving positive feedback when you receive and are satisfied with your purchase. Thank you.
