Description: This book was adapted for younger children from Austrian author Felix Salten’s 1939 coming-of-age novel, “Bambi’s Children ~ The Story of a Forest Family,” which was considered violent at the time for its depictions of animal killings (though Salten himself implored that the work not be advertised as a children’s book). Note this adaptation depicts animals attacking deer, a poacher with a gun, a deer caught in a noose, a fight between the poacher and gamekeeper, and a dead deer shot to death by a hunter (see photos). Very good vintage condition. Minor wear to plastic-coated cover and spine consistent with use and age. Pages are clean and intact. FREE U.S. SHIPPING Buy with confidence.
