Description: Vintage 1950s Plakie Toys Safety Pin Baby Rattle / Shake Toy, 5", NIP (Teether?) Plakie Toy Company was started in the early 1943, in Youngstown, Ohio, and manufactured these types of baby toys from 1945 until 1975. We're unsure of the exact year of this rattle, but estimate that it was made in the 1950’s based on the label of the package (the old man in the logo was used in 1950's Plakie advertising). It is plastic and features a yellow rattle in the shape of a safety pin, with red flowers and green leaves painted on it, along with a ribbon tied at one end for decoration. SAFETY NOTE: This vintage toy is roughly 70 years old, and for safety, is being sold as a decoration or display piece ONLY.
