Description: A vintage cardboard Barbie Goes to College playset, available only for a couple years in the mid 1960s. This set is hard to find, but has seen a lot of play and is missing pieces. I endeavored to photograph the main playset only with original pieces. Included with the set (see fifth photo) are a large group of extras that were with it. Lots of extra books, a couple samsonite suitcases, bits and bobs and wigs. Missing 1 bed and big pillow, all four placemats, the lampshade, cardboard cutouts of two shake machines, payphone, I believe one shelf of books from the desk, and likely some throw pillows. The pieces that are present more or less all have condition issues - the soda fountain booth benches and table have significant creasing and worn/torn tabs. Possibly the original owner had difficulty putting them together. This is an ideal set for play or for completing another set. The dorm room, the soda shop, the scenes of a campus quad, the stadium and the drive-in theater are wonderful backdrops. Why is there one bed? Barbie has become a resident advisor for the dorms to save money and got herself a single room. Midge rarely left Allan's room anyway.
