Vintage Floral Dome Meriden Silver Plate Butter Cooling Dish 4 Piece ~ USA

Description: Here is a beautiful vintage silver plated butter cooling dish. Until finding this, I never knew they used to make a butter dish that they would put chipped ice in the bottom to keep the butter cool!… This is 4 pieces, dome floral design top, glass insert to put the butter on, pierced design tray the glass sets on and then the bottom where one would put chipped ice. It is stamped on the bottom: Made and Guaranteed By Meriden B. Company E099 U.S.A. This is in wonderful condition. The pierced tray part has a little bit of scratchiness. Also the beveled edge glass piece has a small chip on one corner which is photographed. It could use more of a cleaning but it was suggested to me that some prefer the natural patina.
