Description: Vintage Hand Stitched Rainbow SQUARES Patchwork QUILT Lg Size COVERLET 78" x 86" This beautiful handmade patchwork quilt features a beautiful folk art "rainbow" stair-stepped squares design, with solid colored squares interspersed with plaids and other patterns. This quilt is LARGE, measuring 86" long x 78" wide, so it could easily be used as a coverlet on a king-sized bed, or a full sized bedspread on a smaller bed. The quilt is backed with a white cotton batting, and each square is hand-tied through to the back as shown. No stains, tears or rips. I did notice a few loose threads and a few squares where some of the stitching shows through onto the top, but to me this is just another sign of a wonderful vintage handmade piece. I bought it at a local estate auction, where it had been stored in a bag inside a cedar chest for many years. This quilt will be shipped in a box, to avoid any damage through the mail.
