Description: In this listing we have a really lovely Barbie doll. This doll was released by Mattel in the 1970s (but could be later edition) as Hawaiian Barbie. This doll is so pretty. She uses the extremely popular Steffie face. This doll has a dark tan skin tone, black hair with a side part, brown eyes, and red lips. This doll is articulated at the neck, shoulders, waist, hips, and has internal clicking knees. This doll will come with her original swimsuit bottoms, but is missing the rest of her outfit. This doll is made in the Philippines. My pictures came out a little saturated, the colors are a bit more muted in person. This doll is in fair shape. She has been played with, but not overly so. She does have some factory and play related issues. I have washed the doll, but she could use a more in depth cleaning. The doll’s hair is in good shape. The ends of it are a bit choppy, but that seems to be common with these dolls. There are some broken strands here and there. She has some short strands mixed into the hair, but the average amount for a played with doll. She will need some styling help. Her hair doesn’t want to stay in place, but some light work will get her looking lovely. The doll’s face paint is in good shape. The doll’s eyebrows are in nice shape. The right brow is fuller compared to the left one. The edge of the right brow is a little blurry, the edge just isn’t as crisp as it should be. There is a small chip to the top center of the left brow. The doll’s eyes are in good shape. When looking up close at them you can see some small paint flaws in them, but it’s very minor. The left eyelashes are a little blurry, they’re not as crisp as the right lashes. The doll’s lips look good, but they do have some small chips to the paint. The most noticeable ones are on the top right lip. The doll’s head has a textured look to it. It’s hard to explain, but the vinyl isn’t as smooth overall as it could be. Some areas have a shiny finish and some areas have a more matte finish. The head hasn’t gone hard like some dolls from this era, but does feel a little stiffer. It could be shrinking and go hard over the years. There is a faint dark spot on the doll’s right cheek and a dark dot further on the side of the doll’s head. There are some small cuts to the head that are more noticable in person compared to pictures. The doll’s body is in fair condition. The doll’s torso is in nice condition. It does have some excess plastic along some of the side seams. Overall the torso has a textured look to the plastic. This looks to be from the factory compared to from play. There are some small scratches and scuffs to the torso, but it’s pretty minor. The doll’s arms are in good shape. There are seam lines going up and down the arms with some excess plastic in some spots. There are some scratches and scuffs. Some of them are a little deeper with some raised plastic. There is a more noticeable cut to the front of the right hand and a deeper scrape to the back of the left lower arm. The doll’s legs are in fair shape. They also have seam lines with some excess plastic along them. On the inside of the right leg in the front there is a bump on the leg on the inside of the joint. It looks to be some excess vinyl on the leg.The knees bend and click in two positions. They are clicked in the first position in all pictures. Bending them the second time makes the back of the knee vinyl bulge. There is a large scrape to the inside of the left knee in the front that has some lifted vinyl and a rough texture. There are some dark areas here and there on the legs. I’m not sure what’s staining compared to stuck on dirt. There is a small cut and a pinprick to the outside of the right foot. There are some small molding flaws here and there to the leg. It’s pretty minor, but when looking closely at the legs you can see that they’re just not as smooth looking as they could be in some spots. The swimsuit bottoms are in fair shape. I have washed them, but they’re still pretty dingy. The elastic at the waist has relaxed and doesn’t sit tightly at the waist. The inside hem also tends to flip up and be visible from the outside. The inseam between the legs on the right side is coming undone and will need to be fixed. Please examine all pictures to see the exact condition of this doll and please keep in mind some issues are more visible in person compared to pictures. This listing is for the doll and swimsuit bottoms alone, the stand shown is not included. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have regarding this item.
