Description: This Nativity themed piece has been hand-crafted by artisans from Ecuador. The Cocoa Pod has been transformed into a shelter for the Nativity. Mary and Joseph are made from eucalyptus pods cover in cloth and their heads and baby Jesus are made of masapán (a traditional craft of bread sculpture made using maize) all are traditional products of Ecuador. Different kinds of beans complete the scene that is carefully glued into a piece of tree wood. A piece of wire is attached to the top so it can be hanged from the Christmas tree. This Nativity scene is hand made in Ecuador by local women from the community of Calderon, Ecuador. A perfect piece for the nativity collector. The cocoa pod measures approximately 8” high by 4” wide .
