Description: Absolutely lovely wooden Chinese Bride's Basket. The wood of this item is so pretty. The red brown has a deep hue that only comes with age. Unfortunately, the wood has shrunk over the years and there is space between all the slats. One slat has also a crack in it (I've pointed to it with a yellow arrow in one of the photos). The lid is in one piece and still fits nicely. This piece of history is very ascetically pleasing and would make a great addition to any collection of wooden items, Chinese decor, etc. It is not entirely round, but more oblong (see the photos with the ruler measuring the base). The width ranges between 5 to 5 1/2 inches. The handle is intact and strong and reaches up to 11 3/8 inches above the tabletop. Sources online indicate the date of this style was between 1910 -1940.
