Tashiro Shoten was a company in Nagoya, Japan, that made hand painted china and other products. The original name of the company was Tashiroya and was founded in 1878 by Tashiro Ichiroji. The company later became known as Tashiro Shoten and later as Tashiro & Co. Ltd. The use of the word "Shoten" indicated the name for a shop which is selling the products from its own kiln. The products were hand painted in the Yokohama studio, but the actual pieces were made in Arita or Seto. Pieces included tea sets, vases, planters, decorative plates and bowls, cups & saucers, creamers & sugars, cookie jars, condiment sets, trinket dishes, and more. Pieces were distinctively decorated, sometimes by Kutani trained artists. Some of the names that belonged to Tashiro Shoten include Gold Castle, Trico, CHIKUSA, and Royal Trico.
